Equal Opportunities Worldwide also provides regular support to mothers and caretakers of malnourished children admitted to the Mwanamugimu nutrition unit in Mulago National Referral Hospital through donation of personal care items like toiletries, used clothes and toys.
Equal Opportunities Worldwide long term sustainable employment programs will empower the women whose children are admitted in these malnutrition unit by creating for them employment opportunities that will lift them permanently from poverty and facilitate them towards self-reliance.
We are planning to employ a number of local women from those admitted to the Mwanamugimu nutrition unit, who will be segregating the sell-able items from items for distribution. Accordingly, the sell-able items will be offered to the same women for door-to-door trade. Income made from the first sale will be used to purchase second batch of used clothes from Equal Opportunities Worldwide.
Equal Opportunities Worldwide has designed and implemented several community based activities including giving seeds for planting, energy saver charcoal stoves and jerry cans for safe storage of drinking water to women groups as well as demonstration of locally made hand washing facilities.
